Welcome to Century Bridge Learning Center
There are so many options these days for improving your or your child’s English skills. How can you find the one that’s right for you? You can begin by relying on the many years of experience that the Century Bridge team brings to make sure you meet your goals. After all these years, we’ve learned that the key to excellence in English lies with finding the right instructor and using cutting-edge materials in the classroom. How do we make sure you have the right instructor and the right materials? Read on to find out!
Century Bridge has the answer: all our instructors are from top Colleges and Universities in North America
We recruit the most talented and passionate university students from the top-ranked institutions of higher learning throughout the United States and Canada as our English instructors. Over the years, we’ve found that these young people, who will be so much in demand as soon as they graduate, are the ideal guides to help ESL learners improve and build more and more enthusiasm for English.
The ideal English language instructor is determined to do things properly, and loves a challenge. When a student encounters difficulties, the instructor should react intelligently and with compassion, and show initiative and inventiveness to find a personalized way to help the student move forward.
One attribute that sets our instructors apart is that each of these talented people has already achieved their own academic success due to their outstanding communication skills. The ideal ESL instructor absolutely must be a superb communicator in their own day-to-day lives, and they must bring that skill to the task of helping their students excel. When you are struggling with new grammar or vocabulary, how quickly can your instructor invent new examples that go beyond what’s written in the class materials?
What makes the very best teachers stand out is their genuine desire to see their students succeed. You can tell if your teacher cares about you, and that feeds into your enthusiasm and progress. The top colleges in North America all have a gruelling admissions process, and it’s tough to make it once you’re there. That’s one reason our instructors are sympathetic to your struggles; they’ve been in your position! And we only recruit those who are able to take that experience and turn it into true empathy in your English classes.
To meet this exacting standard, we recruit our instructors from the top colleges and universities in America and Canada, selecting only those few who demonstrate the qualities that will lead our ESL students to success. Our unique relationships with the most respected institutions of higher learning are critical to our success. We give preference to those colleges that emphasize the soft skills that make up our core values: motivation, strong communication skills, and true caring. We would encourage you to take a moment to familiarize yourself with some of the liberal arts college rankings commonly used in the US; here for example is the US News ranking:
Once you’ve found the English instructor who is right for you, the next key to success is finding the right class materials. Century Bridge works with experts in the field of second language acquisition and ESL instruction to develop accessible, engage material based on cutting-edge language learning techniques. At the core of our method is choosing material that is right for the student’s age and ability level. For younger children, we use songs and pictures.
